Lou Martin


Lou Martin (They/Them) is an actor, performer, dancer and theatre maker based in Naarm/Melbourne. Their background in theatre and performance extends through training in acting, singing, dancing, writing, as well as various experience in direction and choreographing. Lou is currently studying their final year in a Bachelor of Fine Arts Theatre at Victorian College of the Arts, where they are receiving training in all elements of performance and theatre. Lou’s collaborators describe them as “Passionate, hardworking, and a focused artist who is dedicated to their art and theatre performance.” Some of their credits include Eve in The Metallics (2023) by Alex Fimeri at MUSE Festival, Lucinda in Into The Woods and ensemble in Spring Awakening with Williamstown Musical Theatre Company, Lady Eleanor in A Dinner to Die For (2025) by Diana Quarshie at MUSE Festival, Antigone (2024) dir. Joe Paradise Lui at VCA, and PHASES (2024) at Alter State Festival with Arts Centre Victoria. Additionally, Lou has also completed a residency with Polyglot Theatre Company in Naarm, Melbourne, as well a weeklong residency with Cementa Theatre Festival in New South Wales. Lou has extensive experience working with children as they are currently employed as a dance teacher at Geelong Dance Movement, specialising in Musical Theatre and Jazz, and teaching from ages 2-18. Lou has a vast background in direction and choreography having Co-Directed and choreographed productions of Shrek, and the Lion King for CentreStage Performing Arts Academy. Additionally, Lou has had various written works of freelance poetry published in both Sour Cherry Magazine (2022), and Demure Magazine (2023).
